Aldila's Tour Irons With RIP Technology™ Help Lift Colonial Plaza Invitational Champ To Victory
Tour Blue & Tour Green helps Aldila win wood, hybrid shaft manufacturer counts for 11th consecutive week on tour
POWAY, Calif. - Using Aldila's new low-torque Tour Iron shafts with RIP Technology™ in his 4-9 iron and pitching wedge as well as Aldila's RIP Beta shaft in his 3 wood, the winner of the Colonial Plaza Invitational picked up his 3rd career PGA Tour victory winning by one stroke. He hit 71.4 percent of his fairways and 75 percent of his greens, which ranked him inside the top 10 in the field for both categories. He finished with a 14-under 266 (67-67-66-66) and captured his fourth top-10 finish of the season.

"Aldila engineers have combined exclusive carbon fiber materials and resins with RIP (Reverse Interlaminar Placement) Technology™ to create the Tour Iron shafts," said Stewart Bahl, Aldila's Marketing Manager. "Incorporating exclusive manufacturing technology acquired from Aldila's composite arrow making company, Aldila's engineers were able to make an iron shaft that is straighter and more consistent than any other iron shaft, steel or graphite. The Tour Iron shaft's proprietary materials make them lower in torque," said Bahl. "At the end of the day, we feel that this is the product that will finally give the player a better performing shaft than steel."

With 29 new Tour Green and Tour Blue shafts in play, Aldila won the wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial. Aldila had 8 more wood shafts and 7 more hybrid shafts in play than the next leading shaft manufacturer, according to the Darrell Survey. The double count win marks the 11th consecutive week that Aldila has won both shaft counts on the PGA Tour including the Masters. The Most Accurate Driver at the Crowne also used Aldila's Tour Green shaft in his driver. He finished first in overall driving accuracy with a rating percentage of 78.57.

"The Aldila Tour Green is a stiff tip shaft with moderate torque designed for lower/penetrating ball flight producing a lower spin rate," said Bahl. "The Tour Blue is moderate stiff tip shaft and very low torque designed for a slightly higher ball flight with low to moderate spin rate. The shaft profiles have a constant taper to provide exceptional feel and a smooth, controlled release. Tour Green and Tour Blue shafts are made with the latest generation of Aldila's Micro Laminate materials (MLT). The ultra thin, ultra strong material allows for the construction of a shaft with outstanding performance and unparalleled consistency."
