Aldila #1 graphite shaft manufacturer at FedExCup for 4th consecutive year

VooDoo shaft helps winner of Soboba Classic notch second Nationwide Tour win

Tour ChampionshipFor the fourth consecutive year Aldila (www.aldila.com) is the #1 graphite shaft manufacturer at the PGA Tour Playoffs for the FedExCup, according to the Darrell Survey. Led by their latest shaft series, the RIP, “The Hottest Shafts In Golf” dominated the competition by having 67 more wood shafts in play than the next leading shaft manufacturer throughout the four-event playoff and 23 more hybrid shafts in play than their closest competitor. Aldila has controlled the wood and hybrid shaft counts on the PGA Tour all season by winning both counts for 32 of the past 36 PGA Tour events.

“The demand on the Tour for the RIP (Reverse Interlaminar Placement) Technology continues to be overwhelming,” said Stewart Bahl, Aldila’s Marketing Manager. “The RIP employs patent-pending technology and exclusive materials to completely transform shaft design from the inside out. Through the use of computer modeling technology and exclusive materials provided by the Aldila Materials Division, Aldila engineers were able to completely rethink golf shaft design and performance. The result is a revolutionary shaft with optimum flex and torque characteristics with incredible feel that continues to be tested and proven across the Tours week after week.”

Playing the RIP shaft in his Driver, the second longest driver at the Tour Championship finished with an overall Driving Average of 313.1 yards, which was well beyond of the field’s average of 295.3 yards. Switching to the RIP shaft in his Driver, the second most accurate driver at the Tour Championship finished with an overall driving accuracy percentage of 66.1 percent ahead of the field’s average of 52.86 percent.

The winner of the Soboba Classic used Aldila’s VooDoo shaft, featuring S-core Technology™, to help him become the third two-time winner on the Nationwide Tour in 2011. The victory earned the Ocala, Fla. native $135,000 and catapulted him to No. 3 on the Nationwide Tour Money List with only five events left this season. The Top 25 on the Money List earn their PGA Tour card for the 2012 season.
